Axle

:wow: Ok, I just picked up a new to me jeep today for 300 dollars. It is a 1988 Wagoneer Limited with the 4.0, 242 T-case, auto tranny 4x4. It runs and drives fine, it just needs the coling system purged correctly and it should be good to go. My question here is I thought it had a dana 44 rear, but on closer inspection it looks to be a 35. It has a metal fill plug, way bigger brakes than the ones on my 97 Dana 35, and it for sure has a factory tow package....but looks to be a 35? Anyone run into this?

Not all D35s had the rubber fill plug, by the way.

My 87 and 89 D 35's both had metal fill plugs and 10 inch brakes, an inch larger than the later ones, but narrower. A 44 would have been nice, though.
