Rocker Protection and Flex

This is the next issue I must tackle.....most rocker arm protection i have seen when the rock rails take a moderate hit near the corners, they seem to flex up up and cause structural damage to the rock panels and door mech. although I know that this prob cannot be prevented totally---is there a brand of rocker protection out there that comes stock or with some minor mod could do a much better job with protection. I'm too big to go jumping in through the windows ala "dukes of Hazzard".

Thanks

Overheard at the shop yesterday-----

"Ok we're ready to test it, start it up.............SHUT IT OFF, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHUT IT OFF!!!!"

I have a set of boulder bars made with 3/16 steel tubing. I haven't had that problem with them. If they are made rigid enough, they shouldn't flex and if they are mounted securely to the uniframe and the pinchseam they shouldn't move.

I have a set of Protofab sliders that attach to the frame rails in three spots and the pinch seam with 6 bolts. I have hit these things on rocks hard at times and they have not flexed and caused rocker damage. When using a Hi-Lift I do not notice any substantial flex either. Are the rails you speak of bolted to the pinch seem? You would probably see flex in the sliders if they were not. The link below shows install pics.

The Proto-fab ones are using the right pinch seam rail!On my Gen II sliders I bumped up to 1"x1-1/2" on the pinch seam and the added pocket/roll bar supports. Not that my old ones ever showed any signs of flexing, but these suckers arnt going anywhere!http://hometown.aol.com/rpayne9421/page8.html
