Check Engine Light/P1899

My check engine light came on. I went to my local Checker and found the code.

P1899(M)P/N Switch Stuck in Park or in Gear Incorrect input state detected for the Park/Neutral switch.

I disco'd the battery clearing the code. I've drivin' a couple of times and the light hasn't come back on. If it reappears what is the fix? I'm not a mechanic by any means but pretty capable with a good set of instructions. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd guess a dirty neutral safety switch. It might just have stuck once and never do it again, but If it recurs, you can browse the archives here and probably find threads and links for cleaning it, and precautions about safely removing this wickedly expensive little part.
