if you really dilly daddle, it will take you two hours your first time. but it's a really simple thing like changing the oil.

Yeah, it's more intimidating than anything. The hardest part is getting the hubs off, since they tend to rust up and such.

source a cheap 13mm 12pt. socket to beat on I wasn't comfortable beating on flange

its easy, ive got my tear down and instal time down to 15 minutes. its all comes with practice though

I would pull the hub. Makes it easier, IMHO.
I used a hub puller (autozone rent-a-tool) to pull my rusted together hubs. Then used BFH and a good sized scrap bolt on the flange to get the joint out. Just don't go too crazy with the hammering......I bent my flange together, had to use a vise and large bolt to straighten it back out.
