tires fitting in jeep

will 5 stock tires on stock rims fit in the back of a cherokee? size is only 225/75/r16. i need to pick some up and would like to know if i can take the jeep.

I've had four 225's standing up in the back, but I can't recall if there was room for a fifth. I had a full size spare at the time, so I'm pretty sure they'd fit if you put the spare elsewhere - like the roof.

Ya, roof always works for stuff that won't go inside!

If you need to, just flop the back seat down.

I took a batch of tyres to school to dismount and dispose of - here's what I had in my 88 2-door...

4 x 33"
2 X 31"
3 X OEM (225/75R15?)

There was just enough room left for me in the driver's seat, I had to pull out all my road kit and my sub driver, and I got whacked in the back of the head twice on the way in - but they all fit!

It was so much easier taking the nine wheels back than taking the nine tyres in, tho.. Easier to pack, too!
