i need some advice

Just to start off I have searched and searched. My 97 died after wheeling, 3 blocks from my house. the batt light was on but not the check engine light. I took my alternator in to get checked and it was ok. I have also checked my battery and its fine. The wires from battery I checked and they are ok.

So basicly here is my question does any one know what the fuck is going on with my xj. I need to get it rolling again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your battery cables for fraying and corrosion. Remove the cables and thoroughly clean them and the attachment points.

i agree there could be a wire grounding out or its like mine and the neutral saftey switch is fodangaled(sucks for me)

You better hope its not the voltage regulator!

Thanks for the advice. I did find later after posting this that the wire for the trailer lights that comes from the fuse box was very messed up.

The voltage is regulated by the PCM...so if it is the "regulator" you'd need yourself and new computer...which is costly.
It's not impossible but it's not likely....
