Front suspension clunk

i'm getting a wierd clunk from my front end. if i am at a stop and turn my steering wheel, i get a popping/clunking that comes from the front suspension. it also happens when i'm moving, but again, only while i am turning the wheel.

any ideas???

had something that sounds similar a little while ago with my 96 4x4. It wound up being the u-joints in the front, had them replaced and the noise went away.

Check for a loose track bar.

I have the same deal. Track bar was shot. Replaced it. Still have a little thunk...maybe it's the u joints. If you get a new track bar, make sure it's got a grease zerk!
