Rear recovery?

Whats th ebest setup for rear recovery? I have the stock rear bumper. I know on my old TJ it was mounted to the frame...but being a unibody, i was unsure. I have nothing back there now, and im gonna need something soon :) What do you guys run in the rear UNTIlL you get a new rear bumper
 
Well I had planned on taking my hitch off the XJ....for clearance back there. But I guess i'll leave it on there and run the WARN shackle mount/d-ring until I get the new rear bumper.
 
Yeah, leave it on. Think of it as an added skid point or a little extra armor.
 
Rear receiver hitch and either a dring shackle or a big ass hook.

digging the hook. didja make it or buy it?
 
A friend works for a company that makes industrial conveyers. He made it from scrap that was in the dumpster.

Might want to gusset that thing for added safety.

But really If you drove off a 500 ft cliff that would probbaly be the only recognizable part left on your jeep
