cleaning Neutral Safety Switch

Today I cleaned my NSS. Piece of cake The reverse lights are working.
But the question is , I noticed so many contacts inside that I wonder? The NSS controles the reverse lights and taking care of starting in Neutral and Park only or is the switch doing more than that alone? Is it giving any info to the computer?
Greetings from Holland(Europe) :looney:

There's 2 blades as you know (they have the teeny tiny springs behind them)

One controls the reverse lights, the other controls the transmission computer when you put the gear shifter in 1-2, 3, or D.

That's all it does. And disables starting except for Park and neutral, as you said.
