track bar questions

i have been reading threads, maybe not the right ones. but can someone explain or point me to a very descriptive thread that explains the geometry of a track bar, and how it dosnt affect articulation. i want to make my own but i just dont get it. i grasp how it prevents/reduces rotation of the axle housing. but other thn that im lost.

You didnt even get that part right!

The track bar keeps the diff centered under the truck (side to side).
