1999 XJ power windows

Guys,
I searched and could not find any threads. My passenger side power window broke yesterday. The cable broke off the plastic piece that raises and lowers the window. Are these prone to break; is there an aftermarket replacement with a better setup for less money? Is there a way to fix the on I have? These assemblies are very expensive.

This is your window regulator. Chrysler upgraded the part later to use metal gear threads versus plastic. It's an easy swap. Buy the OEM part. It should cost you anywhere from $100 to $150 depending on where you get it. Try a search on 'window regulator'...
