Add a leaf or new springs?

I'm looking into a RE 3.5" or a TrailMaster 4" lift for my XJ. Here is the problem:

1. How can I tell if my springs a sagging and will the hold up to the add a leaf pressure?

2. Is it better in the long run to just replace the leaf springs with a new set?

Now please go easy on the newbie. My XJ Sport is all stock except for a cluster swap and 30" tires.

You are going to get alot of feed back on this one.

For anything over 2" lift I would go with a new set of leafs, your originals are not made to rearc loke that, and if you plant to use them on a trail you will want the ones made for that.

I have nothing againt AAL, but when you want to that high why trust old crap.

I got the AAL on mine and wish i had ponied up in the first place and gotten full packs and done it right the first time.

x3 spend the extra dough, you wont regret it

Their fixed it for ya..

Go for the BDS 3" rear leafs...if and WHEN! they start to sag they replace them for you :viking:

buy the kit with the AAL, then throw them away as soon as possible. Go to the junk yard and build your bastard pack to exactly where you want it to sit, and save yourself 300 bucks.....
