NP207 opinions?

i was looking at a pretty clean '87, it's a 4.0/auto/NP207. thinking about 4" of lift, 31's and 4.10's. i've had no experience with the 207, and don't know anyone who has. how well do you guys think it would hold up? i don't mind swapping it for a 231 somewhere down the road, but would rather worry about that later on.

They put the 207 in many vehicles with a whole lot higher GVW than an XJ and with more motor. The down side is they are fairly big and heavy.

I have 207s in two of my heeps....no problems....they just aren't well supported for aftermarket gizmos.
