Bubbling?

Just picked up my 1996 XJ today. I parked it in the garage and when I shut it off, I heard bubbling noises coming from the rear of the engine/firewall area. Any ideas?

I'm guessing it would be oil, tranny fluid or coolant draining back into the system after the Jeep is turned off.

Might be some air in your cooling system:dunno:

Thats what my dad said [drainage]. I never heard that on another vehicle, but I guess a Jeep really is a breed of its own, haha.

And sorry for the possibly 'stupid' questions, I am new to the Jeep scene.

Ya, 6 quarts of oil draining back down into the pan makes a definitely noticable noise...lol

no stupid questions! we were all new once...heck, i still am kinda new...

When you change your oil, you'll notice it makes the same noise draining down into the sump
