quick ? in making la's

could I use the stock rubber bushings at both ends or do I need something else. I figure if the stock setup is rubber at both ends why couldnt these be but I could be wrong. The reason for asking is I made some short just longer than stock control arms for my 6" lift and they will not work as too much lift. I just bought all new rubber bushings also for the stock arms. Not worried about the small lip on them as I have access to a lath to turn the bushing mounts to fit the metal rubber bushing housings. Would like to use these if possible for money issues and easy to replace if need be.

the stock arms flex
unless your design flexes i would not use the stock bushings
bullshit

RE and Rusty's both use stock style bushings. i will ONLY use rubber bushings and RE joints in anything i build. i would not use any heim joint for any suspension part, they make noise, and every bit of vibration moves through them. My current set up uses stock bushings (from RE) on both ends. pick up a set from either polyperformance.com or RE, they sell them with the bushing and the collar so all you need to do is weld away.

rehab hit it on the head. nice work. only i would run a stock rubber bushing axle end and a JJ or RE superflex at the frame. Rehab can you link me to where you got your links (2" .025 adapter and the ends) thanks

I figured just the same. I've seen plenty kits out there that use rubber bushings. I'm trying to find the cheapest source for parts right now. Hopefully can find someone local with DOM. Thanks Jeff

Anyone else with fab'd LA's post up your pics so I can get ideas LOL

RE bushings are not stock, its their own "hour-glass" bushings.

Spoken like someone with no experience of actually running heims.

Do you have any idea how much a front axle with a 3-link rotates under braking with rubber bushings?
