i did some searching and found nothing. my 91 XJ sport has an engine out of a 93 XJ, i was wondering if there is any way to identify if the engine is a HO or not. any help would be appreciated.

i think it probably is but id like to see if theres away to see for sure.
 
thats wat i was thinkin. imma do some research online and find a definite answer.
 
Come on search guys this stuff is out there.

There are other things but the real obvious difference is the throttle body where the air intake hose goes into the manifold. The Renix one has a triangular one with three bolts and the HO has a square flange with four bolts.

The lower blocks aren't that different though. You could look for the production date on the driver rear side of the block.
