I just received my new HD diff cover that has a raised plug on it and dont want to over fill it. How much oil is it supposed to hold? Thx

I believe you just fill to the fill plug on those covers as well. Others will chime in who actually use one, though

When I originally installed the 44 I had problems with it spewing oil out of the vent line because when the ARB was installed the bottom hole between the tube and center section was'nt opened as the ARB spec's called for. Just dont want to find out the hard way now that my vent line is routed to the engine compartment. Thx

I have a front D44 cover in place of the rear cover,a cheap way to get more lube in the axle.I used 2 qts.
I also have a 6* shim pointing the pinion up.It has not pushed anything out the vent or axle seals.Even after several Hrs at 70+ mph interstate trips.
