D44 rear axle bearings - grease pack?

I installed a Dana 44 rear axle under my '92 XJ I6 Auto tranny some months ago. At this time I re-geared and installed new bearings on carrier, pinion, and the axles. It's been about 20K miles and no complaints.

But I woke up yesterday wondering if I goofed. I didn't pack the axle bearings with heavy grease. At the time I simply assumed that the differential oil would provide proper lube. Did I goof?

Thanks!
Mike

no need to pack diff bearings, the gear oil keeps em lubed up. :D

I think he's refering to the bearings on the axle shafts.
If it's like the d35 they need grease.
