I have them wired directly to my battery. They power on fine, but the yellow wire and red wire to the lights get extremely hot after about 2 min. They cool down just as quick. I called KC and they told me to ground them directly to the negtive terminal of the battery, was grounded to the inner fender well. Still gets extremly hot. Took these lights from my brothers TJ.

Wired them up with supplied kit using these directions:

Thanks In Advance!

How many watts are you bulbs rated for, what size (gage) is the wiring you used, and are the lights in series or in parallel? These are all important!

From what you're describing, it sounds like you're pushing too much electricity through the wiring - that's why it gets hot. This sort of thing can also cause fires - so we should get it sorted straight away...
