what all options are there as far as a 242 SYE. I'm helpin a buddy get his set up. I checked out the RE website and can't find the damn Hack an tap anywhere. And the tom woods website is the most frustrating thing on this earth to navigate and it just gets me pissed tryin to find stuff.

So... what can we do?

Its a small field of aftermarket for the 242. You have TW, RE, or Custom for a shorter output shaft. If you call TeraFlex they can get you a 4.0:1 for it, but I don't have that confirmed.

Ok even easier...

Instructions and part number:

Actual part and price:

BUT, dont order direct from RE... give DC at DC4wd.com a call.. I bet you can get it for around 85.00 shipped..... And I also think he does a package for TW shaft and H&T for like 300.00 or so? OR just buy a flange adaptor from Napa and run a front shaft out back...

Buy my 242 with a HnT already on it and HAD driveshaft :D

Thanks for your help Chris

haha... his grandma didnt leave him THAT much

No problem.... and the H&T if properly installed is plenty strong.. I dont see the need to buy the TW's kit (unless you dont feel comfortable cutting the output shaft). But it's an easy install just takes time drilling the hole.

heh.. i started on that one at 7:00 and quit on page 4

Personally, I'm terrifed of having to cut the shaft myself, but more so tapping the end. Drilling smack dab in the center of the shaft is something I know I would screw up.
