Key Stuck

Ok I did a search, but my key is stuck somewhwere between off and acc. I have no power unless I turn the key forward, I can still start the Jeep by turning the key all the way forward, I can turn it off but not get the key out, the steering wheel does not lock in any position, the shifter will go to all gears, and the key will not come out it just beeps with the door open. Just started happening.

it will start in nuetral and park. Any Ideas? NSS? Just replace the whole ignition?

My 90 did the same thing. Ended up replaceing ignition. Mine is an automatic tranny. Maybe the shift lock on yours is sticking?

Sometimes I put mine into park and it doesn't click in all the way. Try hitting your shifter forwards some. Also, my key did this once too, I noticed that the key itself was bent and twisted, therefore it wouldn't come out without some force, try looking into either of those.

The year of your XJ would help too...

Slam it into Park a couple times then try to remove your key.
