Wrangler flare question

Are the yj rear flares the same size as the tj's?

I'm going to be using 4 rear wrangler flares on my xj...just wanted to know if the yj rears would work.

no sir. TJ flares and YJ flares are much much different.

The opening of the YJ flare is smaller than the opening of a TJ flare.

The opening of the YJ flare is larger than the opening of the stock XJ flare.

So they will work for what it sounds like you want to do.

YJ rear flares have a more of a curve to them than the TJ's, ala a CJ look to them. The TJ flares match the rear opening of an XJ better with the straight flat angles and the flares you put on the front match up well regardless because you just trim the opening to fit.

The front of the flare in the rear is a tight fit to the door, I'd recommend taking an inch or so out of the rear portion after you cut it to better match up the opening.
