Fuel issue?

Having a problem with my 86. It's a 2.5L, injected motor, and whenever I turn right faster than 3-5 miles an hour, it stalls out and I have to restart it. Only happens when I am below 1/2 a tank. Am I looking at rust or junk in the tank or something else perhaps? It's got a newer (maybe 2,000 miles on it) fuel pump and sock, so I am perplexed. Only happens when I turn right. Any help or tips are appreciated!
