I wanted a really strong diff cover and I am a cheap ass so I decided to build my own out of 1/4 in hard plate
cutting it out with the plasma

Pretty sweet. I agree, a plasma cutter would be the ultimate tool in the garage. I use the one here at school from time to time when no one's looking :scottm:

But I graduate in a month, so they might frown on my Jeep sitting inside the shop all the time

that is rea;;y cool, wish I was that good with my plasma, I always have tons of clean-up, you using any guides or do you just have a real steady hand?
Nice job

That is pobably the baddest diff cover I've seen (ever). Perfect fabrication!

Thanks for the detailed pics. This thread has inspired me to purchace a plasma cutter (ASAP). I lost access to lasers when I changed jobs last year.

Awesome!

Wow, great Job!!!
I'm a cheap ass too, but I'm so cheap that I don't have a plasma cutter either. or a welder.:wow:
If you decide to build any more, shoot me a PM.

Good job.... ive been to lazy to build one for mine.... prolly just wait till i get my D44. So whats up with the blocks under the rear leafs???

I bought a 4.5 in BDS lift and it works and flexes great but it was just not enough so I put in a 2in lift block and a 1.5 in front spacer and I just put in LTB 34 - 10.50 -15 today so now there is lots of room

Nah think he was meaning a "drain" plug on the bottom to just drain it without removing the cover.

I thought about that , but I thought it would be better to take the cover off to change the oil so I could inspect the gears and make sure evrything is where it should be
