Whats an Alternitive To Rear The Carpet

I pulled out my carpet in the rear and its way too loud. What else can be used to quiet the road noise in the rear. I am thinking about using some garage mats that I picked up from harbor freight and coating it with some undercoating. Any other ideas?

I cut up my brothers old truckbed mat, worked fairly well.

Rhinoliner is probably the best cause most places put it on super thick. The shop down here pours the stuff in and it takes forever to get your truck back (curing I guess).

I have no experience with mats as to me, it's just another way to trap moisture and cause rust.

a cheap can $5 bed-protector spray and $5 cargo area mat,
works fine for me.
but i've got so much junk (tools&sapre parts) back there, plus half a conferr rack w/ plywod deck at the lower window sill level
- i never noticed the noise difference between this and carpet..
