Rear Axle type

Another Q from across the pond. All UK spec XJ's are supposed to run Dana 35c rear axles, however the XJ workshop manual states that there are two types of rear fitted, the 8 1/4 and the 194RBI. Can anyone please throw some light on this. Also what is meant by a DANA axle, is this a make or design. Cheers.

the 8 1/4 is a chrysler rear end , 194RBI is the dana 35. Dana is the manufacturer
