Longer wheel studs

Does anybody have any instructions for extending wheel studs? I have some junk-yard aluminum wheels I want to put on but the stud is the exact thickness of the wheel itself once mounted.

I searched and could not find this info.

take a stud out go to napa or other good parts store and buy a matching set in a longer variety
