anyone any ideas as to why my '97 2.5 sport has a significant lack of power under load at between approx. 1700 rpm and 3500 rpm.
rotor cap and rotor o.k.,new plugs and leads,new TPS fitted..........
any pointers would be much appreciated........

EXHAUST SEEMS CLEAR AND WOULD A PLUGGED CAT AFFECT THE TOP END REVS,,, PULLS O.K. ABOVE 3500 !

fuel filter, regulator??

as pointed out, pulls like a locomotive above 3500 so dont think fuel 'starvation' (clogged filter or low fuel pressure) seems it could be MAP sensor ???? any thoughts on this ?????

I know you said new TPS, but is it possible you might have a dead spot in it? It's not uncommon for a new one to be bad out of the box.
