On a stock XJ D44, what are the shaft lengths and which side uses the longer shaft?

D44 shaft length question

Rear D44 shaft lengths, '88 XJ D44:
Removed old shafts. Driver's side measured 29-3/16, passenger side measured 29-3/4.
Replaced with Alloy USA. Driver's side measured 29-3/8, and passenger side measured 29-7/8.
I attributed the differences in lengths to the differences in thickness of the axle flanges (the measurements were from the end of the axle to the outside surface of the flange). The stock axle flanges were 7/16 and the Alloy USA's were 1/2.
