Extended Shackles

Hi

I.ve done a bit of a search.but havent found specifically what i want so here goes

What is the general attitude to extended shackles?

i have Teraflex shackles on my 1994 XJ 1.5 inch extra lift.

i am asking because while i havent experienced any problems, here in Australia there is a question of legality the reason being that they suposedly cause to much additional load and will cause the mount to crack

i currently have 4 inches of lift with reset springs plus a full length add a leaf and the shackle and havent noticed any on road problems or cracking so what is everyones thoughts

Shouldn't hurt anything I can think of.

as long as your main springs are supported well (with AAL or decent main leaf in pack) there is nothing wrong with the longer shackle.
