Hello SoCal NAXJA Brothers & Sisters! =)

Hi guys! This is my first post so I thought I would start by introducing myself. My name is Mike and I'm finishing up my first year of law school in San Diego.

I've had alot of experience tinkering with various cars (I have an 01 Integra Type R - the momentum master) and have gone as far as rebuilding my 90 Miata motor (spec-miata aka money pit). My experience with leaf suspensions has been limited to the research I have done in the past few weeks. I love Jeeps and wanted to experience a new form of motorsports so I am humbly here soaking up as much info as I can.

My beater car was stolen here last year so I decided to pick up a nice 4x4. After a few weeks of research on NAXJA and other jeep forums I found my dream truck. (I will become a member as soon as my next financial aid check comes in!). It's a black 4dr 2000 XJ sport with 44,000 miles. The clearcoat and interior is pristine and I picked it up for $8k through craigslist (btw, if anyone needs a VIN checked on carfax I have a membership until 4/16).

Through NAXJA member's infinite wisdom (and the search function) I contacted Jeep with my VIN to see the options on the car. I was surprised to find out I had the up-country, off-road, and tow package (I thought all I got was a hitch/light hookup but it seems I have the aux coolers as well! =)

I am also an avid shooter (long range rifle and pistol) and have a passion for Green Tree Pythons (morelia viridis). You can check out my forum (although I havent had the time to upkeep b/c of school obligations) at chondroforums.com if you are interested. I am sure that many here share passions that bleed into other hobbies. =)

So, there is my little (excited and rambling) introduction. I look forward to meeting everyone here in SoCal and hope that my fascination with dirt/rocks/mud will become a full-blown addiction.

-Mike

WOW!

Great introduction! Welcome to the group!

Sounds like a nice XJ you have there with low mileage.

How about a pic or two?

Welcome Aboard. I noticed you have 2 locations listed in your location. Im in San Diego so if you need any help down here let me know.

Welcome, nice to have a new and excited member (I'm one myself ;)). Now that you got it, on a weekend after school you gotta go abuse it! (hehehehe). No really though, you found a great bunch of folks here, i've had nothing but good experiences!

I've seen the love the SoCal group has for each other (in no other online community have I seen a Karma/pay it forward thread, and i'm online alot...) and I am gracious for the welcome.

rpraterxj,
I've seen your posts for build parties and I'm hoping soon (that with enough Newcastle/Fat Tire and pizza) I can join too. =) I only have these two pictures (the one from the ad b/c my camera is in OC).

Mongo XJ,
Good lookin out man. If you're ever in Downtown, a rounds on me. And we drink. Alot.

welcome aboard Mike and damn thats a nice looking / clean XJ! Before you lift your vehicle, you should hang out at the Meet n Greets and come out to a trail run to help you decide if you really want a 3" lift or if you get a case of inchitis.

"Its better to decide how high before you buy". :)

I can't believe you guys accept ANYONE who introduces themself as though they have passed any sort of background check...

You did notice he was going to school to become a F*ing LAWYER?

He says hes going to school in San Diego....San Diego has NO quality schools...hes probably going to USD!! Or even worse UCSD!! La Jolla SCUM!!

He hasn't mentioned one word about any good looking sisters...

He could even be a registered Democrat!!

To prove himself he must bring one case of Fat Tire and meet me in JV!
We will then see how cherry his Black POS is when he gets back to NORTH PARK!!!

:D
Don't take me serious...well...all but the case of Fat Tire!

Hi to you too Rick!

I was waiting for a lawyer crack...but keep in mind that when I pass the bar I will still love ALL firearms and ALL forms of motorsports! And c'mon, SD isn't that bad..... you don't get thousands of young & dumb girls in bikinis in the desert! Show me what the desert has to offer and in exchange you can crash at my place so I can show you the beach!

What the desert has to offer?
You are now and forever shall be on my 'dumb as a box of rocks' list.
You still havn't mentioned what college it is that you attend?
First year huh? Big hairy ass deal....you will not graduate anyway...you will end up working as a burger flipper at some......
Mike.....NEVER diss the DEZ!
Don't diss the girls in SD...

ever been to the river, especially on spring break? I rest my case!!

oh BTW Welcome

Nice,

I like how you draw out an argument. That was a friendly gesture, not a diss on the desert.

Dumb as a box of rocks list? Reading comprehension is key my friend. I was asking for you to show me what the desert has to offer (obviously I'm new to this stuff, being from so close to the beach) and in return, I'd show you the beach.

I like how you keep crapping on my school yet all you ask of your son, who is also busting his ass in college, is to finish his first year. Maybe you should be more supportive of people who are HUMBLY trying to learn about new things.

And to think, I still like you!
