tcase drop or shim?

im going to be putting on a rustys 2in bb with new coils and quadratec hd leaves. if i get vibes would u guys do a tcase drop or shims? if u did do shims, 4,6,??? thanks a lot
 
It also depends on the year of your xj. It seems like the newer models are more likely to feel the vibes.
 
very small shim if anything. like 2.5 degrees if you have added shackles, a lil more if you did an add a leaf.

but then i don't like xfer case drops...
 
You cannot not just add shims or a transfercase drop if you want to keep the 'correct' relationship between the upper and lower universal angles. You 'should' always equal any change to one angle with the other. So if you were to add a 1" transfercase drop it should be done with a 2 degree shim as that is what it take to keep both unis in harmony with each other.
It you are adding a SYE with a double cardon, there is a different set of rules you should follow.
