XJ lift/gear/tire Q

I'll admit first off, I havent searched yet....just looking for some quick direct answers....

To clear a 33 with fender trimming, is a 5" lift required or will a 4.5 get the job done? Is 4.56 a good gear ratio to run behind the 4L/AW4 combo with 33's or 35's?

Who has a long arm and how does it drive on the street opposed to a short arm kit?

If your going to trim you could clear 33's on 3"s with bumpstops. I thinkyoucan run 33's on a 4.5 with no real trimming. 5" you could run 35's with trimming.

Lazy $hit! :hang:

Here are some quick answers.
.
Yes 33's are fine with trimming on 4.5" (and bumpstopping)
.
4.56 are great with 33's. 4.88 would be better with 35's.
.
Long arms are generally smoother. But a well set up short arm is nice too.
