I am putting together a D30 that will be getting torn down probably more then I care too. I hate dealing with the dust sheilds on the hubs. What are the benefits of these finger slicing chunks of metal ? I clean my wheels from the backside real good after wheeling any way. I try and stay out of mud as much as possible.
Rocks and pavement mostly. :eyes: Thanks

I believe that they also help direct air for cooling.

I am also overhauling a D30 and plan on re-installing them.

Although, I never had a problem running without them (on stock sized tires).

Been without mine for 2 yrs. with no problems. I found they trap mud & make things harder to clean. JIM.
