Ok so i have a wierd one for you all!!!

I just got finished installing a 4.5" lift on my 99 and i am having problems with the upper shock mount bolts.

My first lift on it was a 2" and i snaped the head of the front bolt off. I thought this might have just been caused by axle wrap seeing how i had a 2" lift block(not a good idea for those of you out there wanting a cheat lift stay away from blocks)

But.... Now have the same problem. went out last sunday and it happened again. The head of the bolt broke off. And it was the same one too, like i said the one twards the front of the jeep!!!

Does any one else have this problem?? I am ready to go out and buy some grade 10 bolts...

Thanks in advance!!!

Not to be a smart ass, but how did you fix it last time?

There are lot of posts on here about those bolts and there are a number of ways you can deal with it. First, you have to get that bolt out without breaking off the weld nut. You may have to drill it out and re-tap the hole. Again, search around here for answers. After that you can get extenders so you don't have to mess with your upper mounts if you will be changing shocks again in the future.

Make sure you use anti-sieze on whatever you put back in there. Good luck.
