What are your suggestions for the best riding shocks for a RE 5.5" short arm lift? I know the sa is not ideal for that much lift but it rides ok for now.

The RE 5.5" kit with short arms comes with drop brackets for those arms, so it rides and handles just fine at that height. I'd recommend some RE MonoTubes or OME LT shocks. The OME's will be a bit better for daily driver use, the MonoTubes are a bit stiffer and better suited for a more offroad-oriented vehicle.
