Does anyone know what this is? I have a 91 laredo. It has some wiring inside but it doesn't do anything... looks like a motion detector/camera/light detector... any ideas????

Yup,.... Infra red none-the-less. what in the world were they thinking.....

ive looked around for replacement key fobs. No dice. At least not at a half way decent price

Thank you for the info on replacing the remote, I figured it was a lost cause and would never be able to use again.

Thats a good price for somthing hard-to-find.
However considering i dont know if my system even functions anymore, kind of a risk on my part. I may have a perfect remote but a bad reciever.
Besides last time i locked my XJ, someone smashed the driver window to get my stereo and toolbox. so i just leave it open. theres nothing in there worth more than a new window and random piece of glass in the buttcheek for a month and a half afterwards anyhoo. but tis good to know you can get them still.

why even buy a key fob. With the infrared system you pretty much have to place the remote to the side window of the jeep and press the button for it to work.
