motor noise

It is the oil draining from your cylinder heads and other areas draining back down into the engine oil pan.

Is that normal to be able to hear it?

I would say it is normal. i have had my xj 3 years, and I could hear the oil drain back into the oil pan ever since i have had it

Now that I know (or have been told) that it is normal, I can only wonder why jeep engines do it, and not any other engines I have ever had or heard.

Oh, never mind, its just a Jeep Thing, right?:roflmao:

I hear the draining too.

Vehicles creak too when you turn them off.

Some vehicles you can hear a "dripping" but I just think it is the metal flexing.....

Or like the neighbors across the street - you can hear their minivan or Durango produce a loud creak/crack after sitting when turned off :)

The question that should be asked is, what the hell is the noise that the front steering of minivans made maybe 5-6 years ago made when they stopped after making a turn?
