Rear Brakes on a 1990 ????

Hi,

I decided to do my rear brakes today, and took both drums off and one set of brake pads off. Left one side together so I could look at if I need to.

So, went to get the drums turned, they were just on the edge of being worn out, so I had them turn one, and we found little hair line cracks, so I decided to just buy new ones ( $26 each vs $8 to turn them).

I also purchased the hardware kit, the emergencey brake hardware, and new pads. So is there anything else I need? The adjuster that I took off seems ok and not rusted. I was going to use white litium greese for the contacts.

Any other suggestions? Is there a great link on doing these rear brakes?

Any advice is greatly appreciated,

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

I had really good luck using Syl Glide on the contact points in the drums. You can get it at NAPA. As far as a reference...this is very well done:

Good luck.
