lengthen rear shocks

Hi...I need to re-gain about 1.5 inches from my rear shocks after adding lift shackles to level my lift. If I use the rear sway bar brackets in place of the upper mounts, will this compensate for the 1.5 inches ?

its going to help but it wont be the 1.5 inches your looking to get back, for that I would just move your lower shock mounts up the axle. you'd be killing two birds with one stone gaining ground clearance and being able to use your stock shocks

Justpunchit, thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping the sway bar brackets would work because it's something I wanted to do myself. Hope my mechanic will take on your suggestion, if not, I'll look into the Detours or Rocky Road mounts and install a pair of those.
