i have asked a few questions these past days and i have got alot of great responses ...i have 1 more...i took my head off my 91 4.0 wow the pistons are so clean looks new my question is when i turn crank and #1 piston reaches top i can pssh it down a little as if there is slack there is that a spun main or a wrist pin dont want to throw away a good motor i do have a 97 but maybe i can save it till later...

I would think if you had a spun main bearing or rod bearing for that matter it would not push down very easy. If there was much slack it should be making a good knocking noise when running. Hope this helps.

Sounds like it's time to pull the oil pan and check the bottom side. If you have a loose rod then pull the rod cap a look at the bearing and crank Throw.
