Fliped low pinion w/ reverse gears?

I was just wondering if I could flip my rear low pinion dana 44 (making it a high pinion) and put reverse gears and if it would work? just trying to think of new ideas.

Better off to find a front HP44, cut tubes out, tube it for the rear, and use some off the shelf shafts, ect....

Make it the same width as a XJ44 or Waggy D44...

The only problem is that you would be running on the coast side of the gears.....not as strong. (In response to CanMan)
