Ok boys and girls, soon ill be fabbing a rear tire carrier bumper for the XJ, it will have a 35" cooper stt with a ravine wheel on it. ive seen a few other peoples tire carriers in person and they dont seem to be 100% 'solid'. I really want this mounting system to hold up and not sag and move around under weight with it opening and closing. basically want this thing to be silent and solid.

I have the swivel hinge and mcmaster latch good to go. but for the bumper mounts, what is the best method for this?
I did some searching and came accross this:

and of course Steve F's recent build

Are these basically the Best ways to go about this (mount wise)? without going ridiculously overboard otherwise? Thanks guys id appreciate any guidance before i get down to business. lookin to mimic detours slimline design

My C4x4 rear bumper mounts to the stock 4 points on each side, with a tie-in bracket that picks up the rear 1 or 2-most bolts for the hitch. Been very solid going on 10 years now, holding a 31, then 33, currently 35, and soon a 36" spare. It's the one original aftermarket part on my rig that hasn't been changed at least once, haha.

Here's the mounting setup I use on pretty much all of the rear bumpers. Grabs a couple of the factory bumper mounting points on each side along with the under the framerail mount just like a receiver hitch. Nutplates go into the framerail, la dee daa...you get the idea.
