tire question for 15x8 wheels

I got a really sweet deal on some 15x8 wheels. I wasn't really in the market but when I saw them I knew I had to get em. Right now I have a 3" lift and 225/75/15 tires. Is it possible to put these on a 15x8 wheel? I read about 235 goin on 15x8 but 225 seems like it would be too small. The problem is also that I'm low on cash so getting 31" tires isn't going to be happening for sometime. Help the n00b? :confused1:shiver:

225/75X15 has a section width of 8.85 inches according to the tire size calculator at http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp and the rim width range is 6-8" according to their listing.

You should be OK 'til you get the 31"s

If your tires are mounted (225's) now, LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! Save the other rims for your new tires!! No point in paying mount balance fees just to bolt new rims on for a few months.

I can mount and balance the tires myself.

Yeah, they'll be fine on 15x8's. Not optimal, but you already know that and plan on changing it in the future.
