Opinions on my shaft

OK, pulled the shafts from my 8.8 and this is what I found on the short shaft--the long shaft is perfectly smooth where the bearings ride. Wadda ya' think? Is it trashed, or would you run it? Also, does the end look normal--it is the same on both shafts--the center portion is a bit lower than the hardened outter portion of the shaft. Thanks!

Looks like it might leak alittle, but other than that, looks fine. I'd run it, or replace em and keep em as spares.

If you had'ta you could probably run it. How's the budget lately?

I think saving this as a spare sounds like the way to go, if you can swing the coin.... Which can be hard this time of year with all the christmas bills showing up in everyone's mailbox. But given the choice, I'd have this stowed in the back as a 'just in case"

Thanks for the opinions--I will likely throw down for a new set of Alloys, but my moderate-budget 8.8 swap is pretty rapidly becomming a high-budget swap (I guess I shouldn't be surprised--this is how most of my projects tend to end up ;-).

Don't get too discouraged... most jeep mods are a

"Pay me now, or pay me later"

kinda' thing. Cheap parts are....cheap. If you can do it right the first time, all the better. - Like I mentioned, sometimes you gotta make-do though.
