Another "0331" Cylinder Head Poll

Been reading up on th infamous "0331" Cylinder Head and it's habit of cracking between cylinder 3 & 4. I read a poll on how many have cracked on this forum alone and it was somewhere less than 50 instances. This brought me to think about how many weren't defective (I have a 01 TJ that still running this casting). Long story; short........ I found this primo "0331" casting in a "Pick-n-pull yard for $28 that aside from a little clean-up would perfect for installing on my Renix. Think I'm crazy?.... as my '89 XJ has never been touched and I think it's due for some valve work.

If you would please post if you have a known "0331" with some mileage on it sans cracking......include the production year and mileage in your response. I want to see your success story!

From all that i have read so far i thing i will port my 89 Renix head instead of changing manifolds, heads, headers, exc.
will put a good header(Renix) on it when i get to that point! there is a lot more then you might think to the swap of any HO head to a Renix

Yeah, but I wonder how many more heads have cracked on Jeeps owned by people who don't visit this forum? The 50 cases here are only the tip of a very big iceberg.
