just a quick note to pass on some findings......88 MJ 4.0 puke-goat tranny.
had a severe stumble at 2000 RPM, if I feathered the throttle it would smooth out and go till the load came back on the engine, and then start to stumble and backfire again.
Cleaned connectors and contacts, changed TPS and MAP, disconnected EGR, checked CPS wiring. all the common fixes...no joy.
Changed the fuel filter..the gas that poured out of the old filter was roughly the color of Pepsi and was very cloudy...runs MUCH better now.
