I just bought a 98 xj with a 6.5 in rusty's on 33's and I have a decent, deep vibration starting in the rear and ending in the front just before a full stop. I dont think there is a drop pitman arm or aftermarket steering stabilizer but not sure if that matters. It has stock brakes and axles. There is also some shaking if I let the rig coast after releasing the brakes from a full stop. Any ideas?

does it have a SYE and cv driveshaft? if so is it properly shimmed?

nevermind i type to slow

Sounds like driveline angle/u-joint problem. Especially on braking where the nose is diving and the rear is lifting making questionable u-joint angles even worse. The '96+ are much more likely to have these types of problems than the prior years and most likely a SYE and Cv driveline would fix the problem... although hard to tell for sure without seeing it.
