For those who retrograde to carbs, this may be of help:
For GM style HEI (coil in cap. There is an external coil one as well but I like the simplicity of all in one), the NAPA part numbers are 48-1697 for the dist, RR203 for the cap, RR173 for the rotor, 700250 for the plugwires, IC19 for the coil and if you have the Prestolite dist (used 75 to '77ish) with the 2 prong plug (looks like the 4 prong flat trailer connectors only smaller) or a points dist, you can use the drive gear to fit the GM 6 cyl dist into your AMC 6 (it's reverse cut and the same as AMC V8 as well)
There used to be a part number for the dist gear new (Echlin DG400) but it has been obsoleted (probably because no-one knew how to look it up) I called today to find out what a new one will cost and get a part number for it. (probably tomorrow)
Anything else, like spark plugs will depend on the year of your motor and which head it has.
