What is this part?

Was just looking under the hood and saw a cable that I hadn't noticed before. It seems really really loose, lotsa slack in it. If I pull the cable to tighten it while the engine is running, it'll rev higher so It's something to do with the throttle.
I'm not talking about the TV cable, this cable is attached to something on the intake manifold.
Sorry I can't be more specefic, I can't figure out what it is(even though it's probably blatantly obvious). I'm just wondering if it should have so much slack in it. It doesn't seem right that there is NO tightness to it at all, it has around 1/2" deflection before it tightens up.

yeah, although I have never used it since buying the jeep a while ago.

Cruise control cable, Mines never worked.Quite the linkage setup isn't it

yeah no kidding. oh well cruise control isn't something I need to worry about.
